Adding value to your membership experience in MCDR, is a priority of the Board of Directors.  To that end, the Board has decided to offer a slate of benefits to current MCDR members in good standing as well as their immediate families.  The first installment to this slate of benefits is presented for your consideration below.  Please return to this page frequently as additional benefits are going to be posted in a variety of other areas.  Please consider each of these benefits as our commitment to the well-being of each of our valued members and their families.

Informational Disclosure

By offering these benefits solely to its membership in good standing, MCDR expresses its concern for the well-being of MCDR members and their families, now and into the future.

This slate of benefits is being made available only to MCDR members in good standing and their immediate families.  All benefits offered are portable, owned by the member or the member's immediate family.  If the member leaves MCDR for any reason, any and all benefits in force is/are retained by the owner.

MCDR is considered by these benefits providers as a “Small Association.”  As such MCDR membership receives a 5% discount when contracting for a Long Term Care insurance policy.  Other products offered through our benefits providers are priced to offer "Association Rates" and what is referred to in the trade as “Expedited Underwriting.”  Expedited underwriting asks the proposed insured to answer three to five questions.  After answering these questions and at the determination of the benefit provider the proposed insured will be approved without the usual and customary detailed questionnaire and medical examination.  This is not guaranteed issue; this is expedited underwriting.  These are not group insurance rates; these are association rates.  Unlike most group insurance benefits, MCDR association insurance benefits are portable.

MCDR is the oldest membership-based organization in Maryland dedicated to promoting the use of mediation and supporting

the mediation profession.  We have a proud history of successfully advocating for allowing multiple professions to practice mediation,

halting attempts to restrict the practice some fifteen years ago.  MCDR is the first organization to establish performance based criteria

now in use as a national model, part of an ongoing dialogue on quality assurance and mediator credentials.
